Hot Dog Shows around the Globe in 2013
Whether you are a dog owner or just love them from afar there are many pooches out there along with there owners who love to compete in dog shows and other canine events. Philippine Circuit Show 2013
Staying close to home initially the Philippine Circuit Show could not be ignored as one of the biggest shows in the region hosted by the Philippine Canine Club. This show spans 4 countries (Philippines, Pakistan, Taiwan and Sri Lanka), however is held at one venue which is the Mega Trade Hall at SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City. The show is also the earliest in 2013 running from February 21st -24th. There are dozens of titles to be won all contested over the weekend which include; International Champion, Philippine Hall of Fame, Taiwan Champion, Sri Lanka Junior Champion and Pakistan Veteran Champion. Previous winners from previous years include all kinds of breeds from Papillon to Siberian Husky to Yorkshire Terrier so the winners of this years shows is anyone’s guess.
Crufts 2013
A list of worldwide dog shows would not be complete without making mention of Crufts. It is both the largest and most well known dog show around the world and is what many professional breeders and owners aspire to the most because it is so prestigious. For many reasons it has fallen under criticism in recent years due to bad publicity surrounding the overbreeding of certain dogs, however regardless of this it is still the most famous and a Crufts title is highly sought after. Crufts takes place annually in the UK and in 2013 runs from 7th-10th March in Birmingham. The show is also televised so from all over the world fans of Crufts can tune in to see what is happening. Not just a dog show, Crufts is also a huge trade show with breeders, rescue centers and other canine professionals for dog lovers or prospective owners to gain information, talk to those in the know and make informed choices about dog ownership or adoption. World Dog Show 2013
This show held in a different location each year. This year it will be hosted by the Hungarian Kennel Club and will be held in Budapest at Hungexpo. The show runs from May 16th-19th and the anticipated figures for 2013 are 60,000 people and somewhere between 20,000-30,000 dogs of all sizes, breeds and age. There is a full range of classes and contests from agility to obedience to best of breed giving visitors the opportunity to see a full range of canine exploits over the show’s duration.
